Christopher Notts tribute to the legend David Essex began way back in 1999 when he appeared on Granada TV's 'Stars in Their Eyes' program performing to an audience of approx ten Million viewers!

Christopher has enjoyed worldwide success since appearing on the TV show. The show consists of 1 x 60 minute David Essex Tribute and he is able to perform another 30 minute set of pop and soul classics if required.

Christopher also has another tribute show 'The best POP/SOUL show in the world ever', the show includes numerous Soul and Motown classics with a sprinkling of timeless Pop hits In the shape of a tribute section featuring Number One songs from David Essex, Tom Jones, and Donny Osmond and many more.

David Essex first rose to fame when he took the lead in the stage musical, Godspell in 1971 at the age of 23. Two years later, he starred in the film That'll Be The Day (1973) and recorded a major hit single, "Rock On" (which he wrote himself), in the same year. A second single, "Lamplight", also reached the British Top 10, without doubt though his biggest hit was 'Hold Me Close reaching Number 1 in the charts in 1975.

Essex's pop idol looks gave him a strong female fan base and his British tours created scenes of hysteria reminiscent of Beatlemania. According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles - 16th Edition - ISBN 0-85112-190-X 'he was voted the number one British male vocalist in 1974, and was a teen idol for more than a decade'.

Today Essex still tours and has new releases on his own record label ' Lamplight '.

Hits include: Oh What A Circus, Hold Me Close, A Winter Tale, Rock On, Stardust, Rolling Stone, Silver Dream Machine and Tahiti.
