Blondie an American rock band that first gained fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band was a pioneer in the early American punk rock and New Wave scenes. Since its debut it has sold over 40 million records. Blondie disbanded in 1982 but over time the bands popularity grew and in 1998 Blondie reformed toured and performed throughout the world over the following years, and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the RockWalk of Fame in 2006.
The bands most memorable member has to be the lead singer Deborah Harry which has given rise to a number of solo tribute artistes to Deborah and the Blondie sound as well as full Tribute bands.
